THE WEDDING EXPERIENCE

Q. How do we know if you’re the right photographer?

A: It is so important to vibe with your photographers. After all, we’ll be there for almost every minute of a super important day that you don’t get a do-over. I think it’s important to ask what your expectations are for your wedding day, what moves you about certain images you see, and what kind of person is going to make your day just that much better! So in short, we’re all for connection. If you like our vibe, you like our images, and think that the way we shoot and go through a wedding day complements your personalities, then let’s do this!

 

Q: How would you describe the way you shoot?

A: We tend to have a storytelling, candid, modern style when we shoot. During portraits, we will help guide you into poses, but we love capturing genuine connection and emotion. If you’re just doing your adorable thing, then we are there to catch it. We want your photos to feel like “you”, so what better way to do that than just letting you be you? For the rest of the day, we try to have minimal interference in your day, while giving suggestions on lighting and location if necessary. 

We love natural light, so we love working it! Though, we do think it is important to let you know that we use off camera flash at receptions, and for portraits if needed. Natural light just flows better with our photography vibe, and allows us to focus more on your connection!

 

Q: How do I know you’ll catch all the special details?

A: We know you take so much time picking out the little details that make your wedding unique. So, we send out a questionnaire about a month ahead of time. This questionnaire will ask all the questions to make sure we catch all the special moments, details you pick, and help us create a timeline and expectations for your day. 

 

Q: Do you make our timeline?

A: We will make a photography timeline based on your photography needs, and help you with planning how much time we may need for certain parts of the day. Other than that, it’s a great idea to have a day of wedding coordinator. They are the ones who can really help you with your timeline!

 

Q: Do you include a 2nd shooter?

A: All of our packages include a 2nd shooter. This is a non-negotiable for us. This allows us to not miss a moment, and is also sort of an insurance policy! Life can be unpredictable, and so can equipment, so having a 2nd person there that you can communicate with very quickly if a mishap is happening, is really important to us. Shit happens, so we like to be prepared.

 

Q: What counts for an elopement or intimate wedding? 

A: Any wedding that has 50 or less guests is considered an elopement/intimate wedding. When the guest list gets bigger, the day tends to have more moments and responsibilities for us. So, that’s why we offer different packages! We LOVE intimate weddings, so reach out and see if your wedding qualifies. 

 

Q: Do you charge a travel fee?

A: Any wedding that is past 50 miles round trip, we do charge a travel fee. Each travel fee will be different depending on mileage, or travel costs if we are flying! If it is over 1.5 hours away driving, we will require overnight accommodations (unless we happen to have friends or family nearby! ) 

 

Q: Do we get all of the images? And when can we expect to see them?

A: Typically we allow 10-12 weeks for you to get your images, but of course you will get them ASAP. You will get all of the images that turn out well, edited and delivered in an online album where you can download the digital images directly to your computer We cut out the blinks, duplicates, blurry photos, etc. Otherwise, I guarantee 75-100 images an hour.

 

Q: Should we print our images?

A: For the love of Pizza, YES PLEASE! While you will (hopefully) always have the digital images, prints that you can hold and look at every day are so meaningful, and transports you right back to that day and the happiness you experienced. An album is a great way to showcase this (we can make those! email us). Your online album will be connected to a professional printing company which we have calibrated our computer screen to. You can get prints directly from that album. You will have a print release which allows you to print through whomever you want, but we can’t guarantee the quality of the prints. Unfortunately places like Shutterfly, CVS, and Walmart can be hit or miss! 

Q: Do we have to meet in person?

A: Nope! It sometimes works best to just facetime or have a phone call! Hopefully our guide as well as our FAQ’s will help answer most of your questions! That way you can chat with me just to make sure I’m a human who jives with your wedding day expectations! The engagement shoot (should you choose to have one), is also a great way to get to know us more personally, and get used to the way we shoot. 

 

Q: How do we book you for our date??

A: We require a signed agreement and a non-refundable 50%  deposit. This is what will secure your date. I only take on a limited number of weddings a year, so it’s important to reach out as soon as you think you’re interested! Everything is on my online booking software, so it’s super easy for us to stay connected!
